Wash/Pack Manager
Job Description:
The Wash/Pack Manager reports to the head farmer will and work alongside 5 other team members. The Wash/Pack Manager is responsible for processing and distributing all produce after harvest and will be leading a small team. This is a full-time position, 5 days per week (40-45 hours). Weekday hours are 7:30am-4:30pm and Saturday hours are 6:00am-2:00pm (start times and hours can vary with the season). We work 5 days a week on a split schedule, typically Monday to Friday or Tuesday through Saturday. Due to the unique obligations of farm life, you will occasionally be asked to work some weekends on rotation with other members of the staff. Our season runs September through June. Competitive pay based on experience.
Responsibilities include:
Washing
Packaging
Fulfilling wholesale orders
Farmers market distribution
CSA distribution
Inventory management
Retail store stocking
Invoicing
Deliveries
Record keeping
Job Requirements:
Experience in small scale intensive organic vegetable farming
Experience with processing produce and safe handling practices
Able to do physical work and lift 50+ lbs consistently through the day
Able to stand and/or walk during entire work day
Able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
Able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.)
Able to work both independently and as part of a larger team
Able to multitask
Attention to detail
Comfortable with computers a basic knowledge spreadsheets
Good communication skills
Good customer service skills
A valid driver’s license
Positive Attitude
No drama
